Grantee Highlight: ProKids
About Grantee
ProKids is a nonprofit agency that provides volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in Hamilton County, who are in the child protection system. They recruit, train, and support CASA Volunteers to provide a powerful voice to these children and help guide them into safe environments where they can thrive.
ProKids creates alliances within the child protection system to maximize outcomes for children, creating a new cycle of growing up safe and secure and fundamentally changing the future for the children and the community.
What We Funded
To meet the growing needs of these children and better support the system, ProKids needed a larger, more intentionally designed home with increased capacity. After an extensive search, they found a new place to call home in Downtown Cincinnati. The new space has a variety of workspaces for the nonprofit’s workers and volunteers. There’s an open lobby, a handful of collaborative spaces, and an event and training space that can hold up to 260 individuals. There’s also a resource room for children’s items and 60 to 80 individual workspaces.
The downtown headquarters will allow ProKids to think more about establishing a legacy and providing for the next generation — and continuing to provide its services to Cincinnati. Millstone Fund was thrilled to be a supporter of this project.
