About Grantee

School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) is a K-12 public school in Cincinnati where dedicated students prepare for a lifelong involvement in artistic and scholastic pursuits. SCPA offers world class pre-professional arts training and advanced college preparatory academics. Artistic Departments include Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Technical Theater, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music.

The mission of SCPA is to foster independent thinking in a creative and challenging environment. By providing a diversified curriculum and environment for bright and talented individuals, they seek to offer preparation for higher education and professions in the arts.

What We Funded

SCPA responded to the needs in their community of learners through their Primary Music Program. The school wanted to both increase opportunities for success when their students reached a pivotal milestone in their educational career and also reduce the burden on families from music lessons which previously happened outside of the school day. At an intersection of art, education and opportunity, this creative approach to meeting children and families where they are is an effort Millstone Fund was glad to support.
